Black pure Spanish, IALHA registered, ANCCE revised stallion - see Stud Fees below.

August 2016 Video https://youtu.be/w4-fOUcSWOg

KAIRO IS A REAL PLEASURE TO HANDLE AND LOVES TO WORK.    HE FEELS LIKE BUTTER TO RIDE AND WAS THE LAST HORSE I RODE BEFORE MY HEALTH CRISIS.   HE IS HAPPY AND UNFLAPPABLE AND LOVES TO TRAIL RIDE BUT ALSO COULD BE A FABULOUS WORKING EQUITATION HORSE, IF WE HAD THE HELP AND COULD SHOW, AS HE SEEMS TO REALLY ENJOY OUR LITTLE OBSTACLE COURSE AND ANYTHING WE PUT OUT TO CHALLENGE HIM  SUCH AS GATES, BARRELS, PVC PIPE TO SIDE STEP OVER OR BACK UP BETWEEN, ETC. I CANNNOT SAY ENOUGH ABOUT HIS TEMPERAMENT.     YOU CAN SEE FROM THE VIDEO THAT VALENTE COULD STAND ON THE SADDLE AND DROP THE REINS WHEN KAIRO WAS ONLY A 3 YEAR OLD.

KAIRO IS A GENTLE AND EASY BREEDER AND WE WILL OFFER ONLY A VERY FEW BREEDINGS THIS COMING YEAR.  WE START BREEDING IN NOVEMBER AND STOP THE BEGINNING OF JUNE EACH YEAR.

I AM MUCH MORE THAN PLEASED WITH THE QUALITY OF KAIRO'S OFFSPRING.  MOST, ESPECIALLY THE COLTS, ARE LITTLE CLONES OF KAIRO.   HE HAS THROWN COLOR WITH SEVERAL GREY MARES.    PLEASE SEE THE "IN UTERO SALES" PAGE TO SEE WHICH OF MY MARES ARE IN FOAL TO KAIRO FOR SPRING, 2018 FOALS AND PLEASE CLICK HERE FOR PHOTOGRAPHS OF SOME OF KAIRO'S FOALS.

Kairo is proving to be as kind and gentle as he is gorgeous. He is going to be one big boy, looking at this point that he will be even taller than Gitano and Wanapum. His dna is EEaagg and he is over 16.2 hands at 3 years old. I was very pleased when the ANCCE vet was here for revision and gave Kairo a 9 out of 10 for "breed quality" and a 9 out of 10 for "harmony".

Kairo has been backed about 4 or 5 times and shows great promise with natural collection but what is most impressive to me is that he is so calm, unflappable and wanting to please. Valente rode him out of the round pen and around the top of the property the first time he was in the saddle and on the 5th time, was riding down the road, under the I-35 overpass with big trucks storming over, shadows and all kinds of scary stuff, over a narrow bridge with water running underneath, etc. Too young to start pushing for dressage riding, we will avoid tons of little circles and have relaxing trail rides to get his balance and strength but have high hopes for what he can accomplish in the future.

National Show Success! - 2014 IALHA National Championship

The good news is that Kairo has been crowned the 2014 IALHA National Champion PRE 3 year old stallion, 2014 IALHA National Champion 3 year old futurity and best movement medal in both classes! The bad news is that he had no competition as he was alone in both classes :( However, I feel sure by the response I got from everyone who saw Kairo in Ft. Worth, that he would have been a double champion even had he a lot of competition. One of the three American judges came up to me after the futurity class and said had he any andalusian mares, he would be buying semen from me as he had rarely seen such a horse as Kairo. Though his English was as good as my Spanish so communication was challenged, at best, when the Spanish judge was visiting the art booth and asked if I had horses, I told him that the black horse alone in the class was mine and he said "very good horse" and clearly remembered Kairo after his day of judging.

Kairo

Kairo's first colt just arrived early March and he is everything I hoped and at this point, looking more like his daddy than his dam, Otamisia, in both looks and personality. Kairo's second foal, out of Niza, is the image of his sire and at less than a month old, I'd say has the best dressage gaits that I've ever had on one this young. I couldn't be happier with Kairo's first foals, both of which were sold in utero.

For 2015 foals, Otamisia is bred back to Kairo, and Kairo will be bred to our 16.3 hand filly, Prisca, who can throw bay, black or grey, to Niza who can throw bay or black and to Destinada who will throw grey. Some are spoken for but others are available for sale in utero.

Stud Fee and Inquiries

Kairo will be offered to breed to very few outside purebred mares and my past customers who bought fillies from me get priority. For purebred andalusian mares, his stud fee, including the first 30 days of mare care/board is $2,500. For non-andalusian mares, the live cover or insemination on our property stud fee is $1,250. It will be a special situation for me to ship semen for Kairo so please email me if you are interested.
