Baena H

PRE, revised

(Teodoro x Daniella)

4/3/97

Baena was Top 5 in the 1999 IALHA Nationals - Junior Filly, 2001 IALHA Nationals - Junior Mare and 2000 IALHA Reserve National Champion - Country Pleasure Saddle Seat Junior horse. Her father, Teodoro, was the National Champion Stallion of both the American and International Andalusian Associations. Her mother, Daniella, was the IALHA National Champion Mare and Best Movement. Baena is 16.2 hands with breathtaking movement and is revised. Baena has so far, had three fillies; two via embryo transfer: Emiliana now in her home in Alabama and Freya, now in her home in Michigan. She delivered her 3rd filly in a row, October, 2002; this one by Ciclon H, named Galilea H. Baena then took a hiatus from breeding and was in dressage training with Marsha Heiden in Ohio but is now back with us.

Baena is for sale. Please see our sale page for details.

Sweet Life Beliza

PRE, revised

(Afortunado x Libiana Mia)

7/13/84

Sweet Life Beliza is a flea bitten grey mare that is a treasure of our breeding program and my eldest mare. She is the mother of my beloved Bielsa, Ciclon (2001 and 2002 National Champion PRE Junior Stallion), Decio (IALHA National Champion Country Pleasure Junior Horse, Eterno (2005 National Champion Western Pleasure) and more! She throws incredibly beautiful necks along with her sweet and gentle temperament and great movement. Beliza won National Champion Produce of Dam at the IALHA National Show in October 2003, Beliza had two lovely Pinturero daughters, Hada and Iluminada in 2003 and 2004. Beliza had a lovely Gitano son, Joyon in 2005, a bay colt, whose permanent home will be in Ohio. After seeing her two remarkable and national champion offspring of Hereje at Nationals, Beliza is back in foal to Hereje and due in March, 2007. This foal has been sold in utero.

Bielsa

PRE, revised

(Fariseo x Beliza)

2/27/97

Bielsa H is a gorgeous bay mare. She possesses fabulous bone, movement and fire. Bielsa's first beautiful bay filly was Farota H, by National Champion Teodoro. Bielsa's 2002 baby was a gorgeous bay filly, Gaea, by Oficial, who now lives in Illinois. Her 2004 colt by Remate, Improvidsado, has absolutely stolen my heart and I have high hopes for his future as a breeding stallion and to show. Bielsa's 2006 bay daughter, Kiriela (see sales page) is stunning but due to Remate's age, I feel that repeating the Remate breeding is more urgent than more breedings to Gitano.

Chula H

PSP

(Ascension x Ingenua TG)

3/29/98

This extra talented PSP mare inherited both her parents' athleticism. She is a beautiful bay color, with natural tempo of movement and is befitting of her name, which means "sweetheart". Chula's first foal was a stunning and charismatic 2002 colt, by Oficial, Gaston. Late Fall 2003, Chula delivered a stunning, dark bay colt, Halieto. Chula's January, 2005, bay colt, Jocoso, is not only beautiful, but also a heavenly mover and was sold in utero. In 2006, Chula had an exquisite black bay Gitano daughter (Kerkira) and in 2007, the absolutely heavenly Launcelot who sold very quickly. Her 2008 foal will be by Chulo and is sold in utero.

Colombina

3/5/86 - Pure Spanish

Dark bay mare bred in Spain and brought to Mexico in utero. Want lineage? Her lineage includes Leviton, Maluso and Mejicano XIV. Colombina has produced exquisite foals, including Judy Fuller's amazing Maja who is the IALHA Grand National Champion Reiner. Colombina's 2nd Gitano filly, Jovana, was born in October, 2005 and is in her permanent home in Arizona. When something works, I keep doing it. Colombina had a black filly the end of February, 2007. See Leona on the sale list. She is back in foal to Gitano for a February, 2008 foal that is available for sale in utero.

Conesa H

PRE, Revised

(Indiano XVIII x Daniella)

7/5/98

Tall and big, grey mare out of Double National Champion, Daniella and by the King of Movement, Indiano XVIII. A loving and gentle soul with the powerful movement you would expect from both parents. Conesa's 2004 filly, Helada, was sold in utero and was USEF halter horse of the year and in May 2006 was High Point Horse at our local Andalusian show. Conesa's fall, 2005 colt by Ciclon, Invicto, is powerful, huge moving, kind and big boned. (see sales page) Conesa's January 2006 filly was wondrous: tall, kind, and huge boned. Conesa's 2007 filly was sold in utero and she is being rebred to Remate with 2008 foal for sale in utero.

Conesa is for sale. Please see our sale page for details.

Dehesa

PSP

(Serranito x Zebeca)

3/27/88

One of the greatest producing mares we've ever seen. Since we have owned her, she has presented us with a beautiful bay daughter by Fariseo, Marisma, now owned by the Moores in Texas. Her next solid bay colt, Novillero, went to Michigan. Her next filly Daifa H, was an IALHA National Champion. Next, Dehesa had 3 consecutive gorgeous fillies by Pinturero; Enigma H, Fantasma and Gordiana. Dehesa's late 2003, dark bay colt by Gitano, was so stunning that he sold at less than a week old. Dehesa's October, 2004 foal by Gitano was sold in utero, as was her 2005 foal, a really lovely in every way filly named Jemiah, now in Illinois. Dehesa's 2007 colt was sold in utero and and she is now in foal to our National Champion and huge mover, Galisteo who has thrown a bay with a grey mare so this one could be grey or could be another color but in any event, if like Dehesa's other 17 foals, will be awesome. Due in late March/early April, 2008 and available for sale in utero.

Enebrina HR

PRE

4/12/00

Grey mare who is one of 3 that is my privilege to be leasing from Melinda Hallmark of Hizkiah Ranch. Enebrina is out of Gema (see below) and by Pinturero so carries impressive bloodlines. She is kind tempered and one of the world's easiest keepers, staying rotund so that she fits right in around here!

I sold her mom when Enebrina was in utero and had the pleasure of having Enebrina back to breed to my Hereje. She produced a lovely grey colt who sold quickly. Enebrina is in foal to Remate and due in February 2007. With her mass and Remate's elegance, I have high hopes for a wonderful foal. Remate has already proven that he crosses well with Pinturero daughters as we had two wonderful colts out of Enigma and two wonderful Remate offspring out of Estepa. The foal will be available for sale in utero and eligible for inscription/revision.

Marisma TG

5/26/97

Pure spanish/portuguese bay daughter of Dehesa by Fariseo. Just when I didn't think it possible to ever see a mare who produced like Dehesa, Marisma has been incredible in the ease of breeding, conception, foaling and the quality of her foals. Her first, Aquileno by Dadivoso, was bay andÊoozing withÊpersonality and found a perfect home in Arizona. Her second, by Gitano, is my Chulo, being retained to show in dressageÊand now a breeding stallion (see his video on my stallion page). Next, she had Dita by Remate whose permanent home is in Florida. Last year, Marisma had another Gitano baby, Esplendida, who is still part of my herd and maybe black/bay like Gitano. Marisma had another gorgeous Gitano son on November 18th who sold on November 29th! She will be rebred to Gitano as we must make as many as possible of this magic match. Next foal available for purchase in utero.

Epica

PRE, revised

(Ravel x Jaira)

By Ravel and out of Jaira, Epica is over 16.1 hands. National Champion Top 5 in the 2003 Futurity Filly class. Gorgeous eye and feminine face make Epica one that visitors are always drawn to. Her dam was acquired from Luis Arenas's program, carrying Spanish championship lines. Her 2005 filly, Jota, by Hereje, is gorgeous and sold to Canada. Epica's 2006 foal by Remate would be one I;d keep for a future breeding prospect if I hadn't already kept two Remate sons! (see Kidron on sales page). Epica's May, 2007 filly by Remate, Legista H was being retained in our breeding program but just being added to our sales page and Epica is back in foal to Remate, with Fall, 2008 foal available for purchase in utero.

Click here to see a video of Epica.

Estepa H

PRE, revised

(Pinturero x Sweet Life Hermosa)

2000 grey pure spanish, revised daughter out of our saintly Sweet Life Hermosa and by Pinturero. No surprise that Estepa, from that pairing, would have an angelic temperament and now her first two foals, Ingenua H and Cezzareo H, both by Remate, confirmed what I knew in retaining Estepa, that she is going tobe a producer of not only beauty and movement, but the brilliant mind her dam and sire both throw. Estepa's 2008 filly, Karateka, is big and sweet and a favorite and Estepa is back in foal for the 4th consecutive year to Remate, with foal available for purchase in utero.

Click here to visit Estepa's page.

Flama H

PRE, revised

(Hereje TG x Incauta)

4/29/01

Rose grey 4/29/01 mare by Hereje TG and out of Incauta TG. I sold this mare as a weanling and her owner sent her back to me in the winter of 2004 for breeding. Through a series of situations that I feel is fate, I was in the fortunate position to be able to buy Flama back. This pretty, kind and gentle mare with the huge "hang time" in her bold and dramatic movement, seemed a perfect match with my Remate son, Galisteo H (2005 IALHA National Champion PRE 3 year old stallion), who is big and powerful, yet as soulful and rich as Flama. The cross produced Khan (see sales page) who has the same kindness and gentle spirit as his parents. Liking him so much, I repeated the cross. Flama's January, 2007 grey colt, Listo is on our sale page.

As no responsible breeder would admit, I am not offering Flama's March, 2008 foal for sale in utero as I cannot guarantee the sire. The first day of her heat, I bred her to our Gitano Mor, thinking I'd love her to produce a dark bay by Gitano. Then, Galisteo came home for just a couple of weeks for our spring dressage show, and I couldn't resist breeding her for the third year to Galisteo. She is confirmed pregnant and I will know the second I see the foal who daddy is, I'm sure, but will need the dna verification --either way pure spanish and eligible for revision.

Gema TG

PRE, revised

1991

This 1/19/91 grey mare belongs to Melinda Hallmark and is back here at Herradura. I sold this mare to Melinda years ago and have had the privilege of her being back several times for breeding. Gema is currently on lease so that her next foal will be mine and is available for sale in utero. Gema has such a classic head and neck and has so much to give!

Gema, for being a mare who is small in height, has a colossal pedigree being by Tribuno and out of Ferianta III whose sire was the famous Poseido V. Gema's dam, Ferianta was jet black and Gema has thrown color. With that in mind, we bred her to Gitano Mor, which resulted in the new foal Kronos (see sale page).

Before I knew Gema, she had Lluvia TG, a black mare. Gema first came to me in foal to Oriano MC and she had a lovely colt her owner at the time named Magico and who I sold to an owner in California. The next year, Gema had a gorgeous black/bay colt by Inquieto TG.

For her next production, I bred her to my Ascension, and she had Donadio, who is standing in West Virginia by his owner who adores him. I next bred Gema to my Pinturero and sold her in foal. The product of that breeding is Enebrina, also back with us so please check out her mare page as well! Liking Enebrina so much, Melinda re-bred Gema to Pinturero which breeding producing Bendito who belongs to trainer Malen Dell. Next, Gema was bred to my Ciclon, and had a great colt that sold as a youngster. I hoped the cross with big and tall Gitano will produce magic, with or without color, and Gema did not disappoint. Gema's Gitano Mor colt for sale: see sale page: Matro.

Gentileza H

PSP

(Remate x Ingenua TG)

4/10/02

Grey spanish portuguese mare who was the last daughter of my cherished Ingenua TG and by Remate. It may be a crime to have bred this mare rather than allowed her a halter career as she has her father's presence, stance and huge movement. Gentileza's February 28, 2007 colt, Larapio, is on our sales page. Liking Larapio so much, Gentileza was bred back to Hereje and her March/April, 2008 foal is available for sale in utero.

Click here to see video of Genitleza.

Ibiza

PRE

(Bilbaino VIII x Milonga II)

5/22/91

2005 IALHA National Champion Produce of Dam

This huge mare stands 16.2h and is from the breeding program of Pico Jimenez in Mexico, carrying extraordinary lines and with a sweet, calm temperament. Ibiza had for us, the colt of a lifetime, Galisteo H, by Remate, who we are keeping with high hopes for a dressage career and to replace his father upon Remate's retirement from breeding. Of the Remate cross to Ibiza, I not only kept Galisteo (2005 IALHA National Champion PRE 3 Year Old), but also kept Hipolita (2004 IALHA Reserve National Champion Yearling Filly) and Isabelina. The next year, Ibiza had Juguetona, who sold to a great home in Canada and in 2006, Ibiza had another filly Karenna. Ibiza's 2008 foal is already sold in utero.

Karina D

PRE, revised

2/20/96

Huge bay mare by Granadino XI and out of Atenea IX. One of the three you may have already read about if you've read the mare pages for Gema or Enebrina. This wonderful mare belongs to my friend, Melinda Hallmark and I am tickled to have her back with us for as long as possible!

Several years ago, I leased Karina and have had her here to breed twice, such that this mare is as familiar to me as most of mine. Karina has gorgeous movement and is kind and is just under 16.2 hands. Her breeding career has been as one would hope from such a mare: her first foal was by my Pinturero. Don Roberto has enormous movement and is with an owner doing serious dressage work.

Next, I leased Karina and bred her to Fariseo and the result was Herculeo, a smashing bay colt that is in Virginia and reportedly charming everyone who meets this beautiful boy. Her third colt was by my Remate. Karina's spring, 2007 foal is sold in utero.

Nicole

Wonderful Percheron mare whose big bones and mass are outweighed by her heart. In 2002, Nicole delivered the most remarkable colt that surpassed our wildest hope. Gustazo, by Hereje, became the darling of the lovely artist who keeps this website up and running! Nicole delivered a full sister to Gustazo in 2003, this marvelous filly named Nicotina. Nicole had a beautiful Hereje filly, Iliada H in 2004 who is in her new home in Virginia. Nicole is pregnant with her foal by Chulo due in March, 2008 and available for sale in utero.

Destinada DD

5/11/03

Inscribed

Pure spanish grey filly by Remate out of Keberes D, Donna DeYoung's amazing mare. Donna is kind enough to entrust her phenomenal mare to live here and I have now bred her several times and from the moment that Desti foaled, I was in love! Huge movement, tall with gorgeous legs. Desti won a large and lovely class in May, 2005 at our local Texas show and then in Ft. Worth, became the IALHA National Champion PRE 2 and under filly. Desti is in foal to Gitano Mor and due in March, 2008 with available, colt only, in utero. Possibility of bay and undoubtedly very tall with her already at age 4 reaching 16.2 as is Gitano. For reasons I have not had explained, Desti's carta has not come and therefore, she was not presented last year for revision but hopefully than can be accomplished before this foal is born.

Habana H

Revised. PRE.

3/25/03

Pure spanish grey filly by Remate and out of Jibara. I sold Habana's full sister, Gerena, and was sorry as soon as I let that Remate daughter off the property, although she is in a dream home and for that I have to be happy for her! Habana is very spirited and one of the best movers I've ever had.Habana is in foal to Ami MacHugh's wonderful Competidor XIII, who I have so loved and is the sire of my Libertado (see sales list). Having recently bought another Competidor son, Wanapum, for a future breeding stallion, I no longer need to keep any Competidor colts so Habana's is for sale in utero, if a colt.

Hermosura H

4/16/03

Pure spanish/Portuguese grey filly by Remate and out of Hermosa D. When I sold the gorgeous Hermosa (IALHA Reserve Grand National Champion 2 and under filly in 1995), her last gift to me was this wonderful and kind filly. Sura is tall, quiet and gentle and her neck and face are the most like her father's of all my Remate offspring so far. In 2005, Hermosura was IALHA National Champion PSP 2 and under filly. Hermosura's 4/30/07 colt is sold and she will be rebred to Hereje with the foal available for purchase in utero.

Click here to view a video of Hermosura.

Hermosura is for sale. Please see our sale page for details.

Hipolita H

3/3/03

Revised

Pure spanish grey filly by Remate and out of Ibiza. This elegant lady is a full sister to our Galisteo and so stately and tall and balanced but the most outstanding quality is her charming and loving personality! It is impossible to choose one of your children over others, but definitely, Hipo is one of my favorites ever! In 2004, she was IALHA Reserve National Champion PRE yearling filly. As if I am not lucky already, Ami allowed me to breed her to Competidor and my goal was a dream colt to add to my breeding stallion. I love her colt, Libertado (see sales page) as much as any I've had but since he is related to my 10 Remate daughters, his potential as my future breeding dream stallion is limited here. I have therefore put him for sale and bought his older half-brother, Wanapum, who isn't related to any of my girls. Hipolita is bred to Gitano Mor and I wonder if she will throw bays as her dam has always done when bred to bay? The foal, due in the fall, 2008, is available for purchase in utero.

Photo pending

Isabelina H

Revised, pre grey mare born 2/28/04 and a full sister to Galisteo H and Hipolita H. In 2007, Isa was IALHA Reserve National Champion Futurity Filly - no big gamble to bet on this cross! Isa is one of the pasture lovebugs that almost mows you down when you go out to visit the mares and total joy, with big and forward movement. She is in foal to Hereje TG for her first foal, due in the fall of 2008 which is available for sale in utero.

Incauta TG

1/14/93

Flea bitten grey pure spanish, revised 16 hand mare that is the alpha leader of my mare band. I imported this mare from Mexico and she has had a wonderful foaling career so far: First, Degas by my Pinturero (now in Canada), then Europa by Hereje (in Nebraska), my Flama by Hereje, Guajira by Dadivoso (here in Texas), Hypnotico by Gitano (in Arkansas), Inmensa by Gitano (in Michigan) and Jiga by Hereje (in Texas). Having had a grey colt (Hypnotico) and a bay filly (Inmensa) by Gitano. Incauta's February, 2007 bay filly, Lirica is sold and Incauta is back in foal for the 4th time to Hereje.Ê All 3 prior pregnancies resulted in fillies.Ê The foal due January, 2008 is available for purchase in utero.

Click here to see video of Incauta and the 8 foals she has given us so far.

Dolly

Belgian draft mare that stole my heart and nowÊis with us permanently. Her first colt by Gitano, Kobe, is so big boned, well proportioned and wonderful that I immediately bought Dolly who at the time was here for more or less rehab only. Kobe's big eyes would steal anyone's heart and he is destined for the dressage ring. Dolly is bred to Chulo and her foal is due in March, 2008 and available for purchase in utero
